This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support. To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work placement.
Training could lead to Job Roles in:
- Community Care Worker
- Residential Aged Care Worker
- Disability Service Officer
- Family/School Support Officer (Disability)
This course takes approximately 12 months to complete.
This course has a standard enrolment fee of $5,500 per person. Funding may be available for eligible Apprentices and Trainees who are Full Time Employees (and have been employed for less than 3 months) or Part Time Employees (working a minimum of 21 hours a week and have been employed for less than 12 months).
