Audience

This course is designed for:

  • hospitality employees in venues serving alcohol, particularly those operating late at night.
  • bar staff, security, floor staff, an supervisors who interact directly with customers
  • managers and venue leaders are responsible for patron safety, compliance, and workplace culture

This course is particularly relveant for venues navigating obligations under responsible service of alcohol, workplace health and safety, and anti-discrimination legislation.

Content in this course does contain confronting topics and real victim stories which may be confronting to some participants.

By incorporating regular ongoing training and refresher sessions, staff will be consistently empowered with the skills and knowledge needed to feel confident, prepared, and equipped to handle challenging situations effectively.

Course Information

This course is designed for:

  • managers and venue leaders are responsible for patron safety, compliance, and workplace culture

This course is particularly relveant for venues navigating obligations under responsible service of alcohol, workplace health and safety, and anti-discrimination legislation.

No entry requirements, however it is advised all students understand the nature of the program and content warnings. 

Students are asked to bring a laptop or tablet and charger for use during the training. If you do not have access to a suitable device, please speak with our team during the enrolment process to discuss alternative arrangements.

This qualification will be delivered through face-to-face workshops.

4 hour workshop

Key topics include but are not limited to:

  • Understanding the Definition of Sexual Violence

  • Identifying Risk Factors in Hospitality Environments

  • Understanding the unique risk factors in bars, clubs, and hotels that contribute to sexual violence.

  • Developing Skills to Intervene and Prevent Incidents

  • Reporting and Support Procedures

  • Support services available for victims
